LAKE CITY, MN – The University of Mary men's golf team put together its best round of the season on the second day of The Jewel Invitational, coming in at just one stroke over par for the day. As a whole, the Marauders finished 10
th.
After a first round score of 305 (+17), UMary was able to cut 16 strokes from its score on Tuesday. The 289 (+1) is the best round of the season for the Marauders by 9 strokes.
Anchoring the second day strides were
Lucas Schoepp and
Lucas Greenlun, who both finished under par for the day. Schoepp shot a 70 (-2) on the second day to bring his total to 146 (+2). Greenlun came in at 71 (-1) and also had a total of 146 (+2). As a result, both golfers were tied for 27
th.
Aiden Knodel followed at 151 (+7) after sinking four birdies on the second day. Freshman
Payton Hiller contributed to the scoring for the first time in his young career, also finishing with a 151 (+7). Knodel and Hiller were tied for 46
th.
