FARGO, ND – The 8
th-ranked University of Mary women's track and field team was in Fargo, ND, for the NDSU Spring Classic, earning nine top-5 finishes.
Laila Cleare won two events on the day.
Cleare had an excellent time of 11.23 in the 100m dash. However, due to a strong tailwind of 4.0m/s, the time will not be considered in the national leaderboard. It would have been 2nd in the nation and a school record if the wind had not rendered the time illegal.
Wind was not a factor in Cleare's victory in the 200m dash. Her time of 24.08 gave the junior her first win in the event this outdoor season.
Terez Wycklendt improved her season-best time in the 1500m run with a 4:50.03, finishing 3
rd. Teammate
Giselle Jahner was close behind in 4
th with a PR of 4:52.08.
There were a trio of top-three finishes in field events.
Jerrica Pachl placed 3
rd in the high jump with a 1.62m.
Anna Bruno set a new PR in the long jump with a 5.82m leap, placing 3
rd. Freshman
Anna Nasset tied a PR in the triple jump with a 11.30m score. She placed 2
nd in the event.
