Acheson, Becker earn All-American honors on final day of NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The University of Mary women's track and field team was represented by Elizabeth Acheson in the 800m and Alyssa Becker in the 3000m on the final day of the NCAA Championships. Both seniors were able to take home All-American honors.

For Acheson, this was her fifth career All-American across indoor and outdoor track and field. This time around, her time of 2:07.83 – about a second shy of her PR/school record – was enough to finish 7th in the field.

Becker was named a second-team All-American with a 12th place finish in the 3000m run. The senior led the first 2000m of the race, but the pack was eventually able to catch up. She finished with a PR of 9:34.43. Becker has two second-team All-American honors to her name now, as she placed 11th in the 5000m run.

Away from the track, the Marauders were recognized for having the highest team GPA in the nation in women's track and field.

Outdoor season will begin next weekend at home with the Marauders Outdoor Opener. The meet will take place at the MDU Resources Community Bowl in Bismarck, ND, on Saturday, Mar. 22.
