Marauders make another move forward to #11 in ACHA MD1 poll

UNION LAKE, MI – The University of Mary hockey team took another stride forward in the national poll, moving up one slot to #11 in the 2025-26 American College Hockey Association (ACHA) Men's Division 1 Ranking #7 released November 19.

UMary has slowly moved forward in the polls this season. The Marauders ranked 14th in the preseason coaches' poll and in the first two regular season rankings before jumping to #12 the next four weeks.

UMary is 10-5-0-0-0-0 (W-L-OTL-T-SOW-SOL) overall, 9-5-0-0-0-0 against ACHA MD1 teams and 3-2-0-0-0-0 in MCH play. Additionally the Marauders are 7-5-0-0-0-0 when playing nationally-ranked teams.

Against teams in the poll released November 19, the Marauders are 3-5-0-0-0-0. UMary owns a home win over #3 Minot State University and road wins over #14 Purdue Northwest and #23 Grand Valley State University. The Marauders have lost on the road to #3 Minot State and #6 Calvin, and at home to #7 Drury (twice) and #9 Jamestown.

With 12 games already played against nationally-ranked teams, the Marauders schedule doesn't let up. In UMary's next seven games – all away from home – the Marauders face four ranked teams; #17 Utah (November 21) and #22 West Chester (November 22) at the Chicago Classic with road games at #9 Jamestown (December 3 & 11).

After a preseason poll and four regular season rankings determined by a coaches vote, computerized rankings started November 5 and will continue into February. The computerized rankings determine the 18 squads that will join six teams earning automatic qualifying bids to form the 24-team ACHA MD1 national championship tournament field and compete for the title in Centene, MO, in March.

The 2026 ACHA Men's Division I National Championships presented by FloHockey is set for March 12-17 at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo. This will be the third year of the 24-team format.
