Blair named NSIC Football Offensive Player of the Week for stellar performance against the Jimmies

BURNSVILLE, MN – A prolific performance over a longtime rival earned University of Mary quarterback Ryan Blair Northern Sun Offensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts in the Marauders 44-22 road win over the University of Jamestown.

Blair passed for 341 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. He completed 28-of-41 passes and didn't throw an interception as UMary scored the first 34 points in the game.

The graduate transfer from Whitworth (OR) University twice connected with Karsyn Jablonski for scoring passes (1 yard and 21 yards) sandwiched around a 14 yard scoring pass to Luke Bodine. All three touchdown passes came in the first half.

The Spokane, OR, native has thrown for at least 300 yards in all three of his games with the Marauders. For the season he is completing 69% of his passes (82-of-119) and has thrown for 992 yards and nine touchdowns with just three interceptions.

UMary recorded 32 first downs and 523 yards of offense against Jamestown. The 32 first downs is an NCAA era record for the Marauders, exceeding the previous high of 31, last accomplished in 2022. The yardage is the most for the Marauders since October 2, 2021.

The last time UMary played at the University of Jamestown was 2004. It was also the last time the Marauders and Jimmies had met as conference opponents before Saturday's meeting, when UMary and Jamestown faced off as Northern Sun rivals for the first time.

The Marauders next host MSU Moorhead for UMary's Homecoming game on Saturday, October 11. The Battle for the Paddle trophy game kicks off at 2 pm at the MDU Resources Community Bowl in Bismarck, ND. Visit www.UMaryTickets.com to purchase your tickets online.
