Bodine hauls in Don Hansen All-American honors

BROOKFIELD, IL – An extraordinary senior season for University of Mary tight end Luke Bodine earned the big play performer a spot on the 2025 Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America honorable mention team.

The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on Aug. 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, IL, started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.

Redefining the role of a tight end at UMary, Bodine set several game, season and career records for the position on his way to earning 2025 Northern Sun North Division 2nd team honors at tight end. The Plymouth, MN, native caught 70 passes for 796 yards and 10 touchdowns to pace UMary in receptions and touchdowns. In the season-opener he caught three touchdown passes in a win over Midland. He also hauled in a pair of scoring passes on homecoming against MSU Moorhead. In the final game of the season Bodine set career highs with 12 catches for 147 yards and a score at Bemidji State University.

In the NSIC regular season Bodine ranked 3rd in catches, 4th in receiving touchdowns, 6th in receiving yardage and 8th in total touchdowns. Among tight ends he was first in catches and second in yards and touchdowns. In NCAA D2 Bodine was 12th in touchdown catches, 12th in receptions/game, 33rd  in receiving yards and 40th in receiving yards/game (72.4).

Among NCAA D2 tight ends, Bodine led the position in receptions and was 2nd in receiving yards and touchdowns, trailing only NSIC North 1st team tight end Luke Dehnicke of the University of Minnesota Duluth in yards and touchdowns.

Bodine finished his career with 153 catches for 1,574 yards and 15 touchdowns. He ranks 7th all-time at UMary in catches and 12th in receiving yards.

Bodine is Marauders football first All-American since 2021 when Danny Kittner, Luke Little and Logan Nelson claimed a plethora of honors.
