BURNSVILLE, MN – For the fourth season in a row,
Chloe Chong Zhi Jing was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tennis Player to Watch for the Marauders. The Senior has earned All-NSIC First Team Singles honors in all three seasons she has competed at UMary.
UMary women's tennis is projected to finish 4th in the conference, according to the NSIC Coaches' Poll. Last season, the Marauders took second in the Northern Sun.
Zhi Jing is coming off a season where she went 7-2 in singles competition in the NSIC, competing as the Marauders number one. The Selangor, Malaysia, native went 6-3 in doubles competition in the conference with her partner
Ilona Freitag. The duo earned First Team Doubles honors last season after being named All-NSIC Second Team Doubles the previous two seasons.
"Chloe enters her senior season as one of the most accomplished players in Marauders tennis history. She brings a tremendous amount of energy and leadership to our team, and after battling through some adversity this Fall, she is poised to finish her college career strong," said UMary head coach
Erik Porter.
After serving the last two seasons as the Marauders assistant coach, Porter takes over the helm of the UMary tennis program. Porter brings back four starters from last season.
Freitag returns for her senior season after earning All-NSIC Second Team Singles honors after competing as the Marauders three last year. The Le Locle, Switzerland, native went 7-2 in conference action.
Maria Estinvil also returns after being named to the All-NSIC Second Team in singles action. The Quebec, Canada, native went 7-1 in the Northern Sun as she competed as the team's number four. UMary also returns
Luba Moyo to the roster, who competed as the number six last year.
The Marauders have added three freshmen to the roster.

Madeline Abbott look to make an immediate impact in their first season at UMary.

The Marauders kick off the 2025 season at home against Winona State University on February 22, at the Mandan Tennis Center.
