JAMESTOWN, ND – Despite strong performances by the Sueflohn sisters, the University of Mary tennis team (3-8, 1-4 Northern Sun) was defeated 5-2 by Minnesota State University, Mankato (5-2, 4-0 NSC).
UMary fell 3-0 in double competition, giving the Mavericks one team point.
Natalia Jorge Magarzo and
Elizabete Lekse dropped #1 doubles 6-3 to McKenna DeMarce and Julia Gurholt.
Anna Sueflohn and
Josie Sueflohn lost 6-3 in #2 doubles to Lucie Sliskova and Alma Vazquez.
Brooke Mulholland and
Maja Panganiban came up short in #3 doubles, losing 6-2 to Taina Cordeiro and Amanda Blanco-Epple.
Josie Sueflohn took down #3 singles over Lucie Sliskova 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Anna Sueflohn earned a gritty win in #4 singles, defeating Alma Vazquez 7-6, 1-6, 6-4.
Natalia Jorge Magarzo lost 6-3, 6-2, 1-0 to Julia Gurholtin in #1 singles.
Elizabete Lekse was defeated in #2 singles 6-0, 6-4 by McKenna DeMarce.
#5 singles saw
Maja Panganiban fall 6-2, 6-4 to Amanda Blanco-Epple.
Brooke Mulholland lost a hard-fought match 6-0, 4-6, 6-4 in #6 singles to Taina Cordeiro.
