GRAND FORKS, ND – A close competitive match would see the University of Mary tennis team (4-10, 2-6 Northern Sun) fall short 4-3 to the University of Minnesota Crookston (8-8, 5-3 NSIC).
UMary took down the doubles competition 2-1, giving the Marauders one team point.
Natalia Jorge Magarzo and
Elizabete Lekse won a tough battle in #1 doubles 7-5 over Daniela Lucas Rivera and Terez Drasilova.
Anna Sueflohn and
Josie Sueflohn defeated Asli Oktay and Abril Hernandez 6-3 in #2 doubles.
Brooke Mulholland and
Maja Panganiban fell 6-2 in #3 doubles to Kavya Singh and Nadia Cases Mundet.
Josie Sueflohn was dominant in #3 singles, defeating Nadia Cases Mundet 6-1, 6-3.
Anna Sueflohn would defeat Terez Drasilova 6-3, 6-7, 3-2 after Drasilova retired in the third set of #4 singles.
Natalia Jorge Magarzo lost 6-4, 6-0 in #1 singles to Daniela Lucas Rivera.
Elizabete Lekse was defeated in a hard-fought match in #2 singles, losing 6-1, 5-7, 7-5 to Asli Oktay.
#5 singles saw
Maja Panganiban fall to Kavya Singh 6-3, 6-0.
Brooke Mulholland lost a tight match against Abril Hernandez 7-6, 6-4 in #6 singles.
