MANDAN, ND – A dominant performance by the University of Mary tennis team (5-10, 3-6 Northern Sun) keeps the Marauders postseason chances alive as UMary defeated Bemidji State University (10-6, 4-5 NSIC) 7-0.
The Marauders will clinch a top-six seed in the NSIC tournament with a win over the University of Minnesota Duluth on Sunday, April 12, at 9 am at the Mandan Tennis Center.
UMary won doubles competition 2-1, giving the Marauders one team point.
Natalia Jorge Magarzo and
Maja Panganiban fell 6-1 in #1 doubles to Mia Leshem and Marla Davies.
Anna Sueflohn and
Josie Sueflohn defeated Paula Garcia Acebal and Lauren Rutten 6-4 in #2 doubles.
Brooke Mulholland and
Elizabete Lekse won 6-2 in #3 doubles over Valesca Rodriguez and Ana Lucia Ibanez.
Natalia Jorge Magarzo won a thriller in #1 singles, defeating Mia Leshem 6-7, 6-4, 1-0.
Elizabete Lekse was victorious over Paula Garcia Acebal 6-3, 6-2.
Josie Sueflohn grinded out a hard-fought win in #3 singles 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 over Marla Davies.
Anna Sueflohn impressed in #4 singles, defeating Valesca Rodriguez 6-1, 6-1.
Maja Panganiban put on a dominant performance, winning 6-2, 6-2 over Lauren Rutten.
Rounding out the Marauders lineup,
Brooke Mulholland defeated Ana Lucia Ibanez 6-4, 6-2 in # 6 singles.
