Marauders #22 in final USTFCCCA national poll prior to NCAA women's cross country championships

NEW ORLEANS – in the final ranking of the season prior to the national championships, the University of Mary is ranked #22 in the 2023 Week 7 NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll as released by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Left out of the preseason rankings and the first two polls of the season, this is the third straight week the Marauders have been ranked. UMary cracked the poll for the first time in week 3 at #19 after a big performance at the Roy Griak Invitational and have fluctuated between #19 and #22 over the next five weeks.

The Marauders earned an at-large berth to the NCAA championships. In their last two races UMary placed third at the Northern Sun championships and fourth at the NCAA Central Region championships.

Matching their postseason finishes, UMary is ranked #4 among teams in the Central region and #3 among NSIC squads.

This is the 14th straight season the Marauders have made at least one appearance in the USTFCCCA national poll, a streak dating back to 2009.

The NCAA Championship is set for Saturday, November 18, at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, MO, where Missouri Southern State University serves as host. The women's race begins at 10 am.
