Bolibruch burns over barriers to earn All-American honors on final day of 2022 NCAA championships

ALLENDALE, MI – Tereza Bolibruch battled to her best-ever finish at a national meet in her final race for the University of Mary, earning All-American honors in the 100 meter hurdles at the NCAA Division II Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

"Tereza fought back against the hurdles today," said UMary interim head track & field coach Cale Korbelik. "The event took out many athletes but not Tereza. She survived and earned All-American status, which is something that we have been striving for in the 100 meter hurdles in her career. We are very proud and excited to see her end her UMary career on a high note.

"Tereza's strong finish propelled us to 15 points, which is putting us in a great spot for team standings. We had so many surprises this weekend with out-performing our placing coming in. It's another great day to be a Marauder!"

Bolibruch entered the NCAA meet ranked 13th in the nation. In the preliminaries on Friday she posted the 9th best time of the day to grab the final timed slot. A protest would add a 10th person to the finals, forcing the race to be held in two heats with the top eight placers earning team points and 1st team All-American honors.

Competing in the second heat, Bolibruch breezed over the barriers at the start before knocking down the second to last hurdle. Powering through, Bollibruch crossed the finish line second in her heat and 7th overall with a time of 14.17 seconds on a day at least two racers tumbled to the track.

This is the first time Bollibruch has scored team points at an NCAA championship event to earn 1st team All-American honors. The senior from Jamestown, RI, placed 9th at the 2021 NCAA indoor championships and was 11th at the outdoor championships last spring to earn second team All-American status both times.

Earlier in the week, Samoya Neil (7th place) and D'Andra Morris (8th) earned All-American status in the long jump on day one of the meet, combining for three team points. Morris followed on Friday with a national championship in the triple jump, her second career individual crown. Bollibruch earned the Marauders 4th All-American medal of the weekend.
