Explosive day in jumps keys Marauders efforts at Mike Thorson Open

BISMARCK, ND – Headlined by explosive efforts in all three jumps, the University of Mary women's track & field team posted five NCAA qualifying marks in the Marauders first meet of 2022. Competing at home in the Mike Thorson Open, All-American D'Andra Morris claimed a pair of the qualifying efforts.

The national runner-up in the triple jump, Morris registered a season-best mark of 12.25 meters to win the event. At present she ranks sixth in the nation in both the triple jump and the long jump.

Cali Modglin also had a big day in the triple jump. The senior from Great Falls, MT, twice recorded efforts of 11.78 meters. Her NCAA qualifying mark earned her a runner-up finish in the event. Modglin ranks 14th nationally behind the power of her efforts on the opening weekend of the season. She also finished third in the long jump (5.54 meters).

The biggest battle of the day was in the high jump. Going head to head, teammates Antonia Genet and Morris both posted NCAA qualifying efforts as both finished with marks of 1.67 meters. Genet claimed the win after needing just one attempt to clear the winning height. Currently the pair is tied for 17th in NCAA Division II and fourth in the Northern Sun.

For the season she is ranked 4th in the nation for her long jump mark in the season opener. Passeri is also ranked 18th this year in the triple jump.
