BISMARCK, ND – University of Mary men's and women's basketball and men's and women's track & field home events headline a busy weekend for Marauders athletics during the opening week of 2022 spring semester classes on campus. Sponsored by the Arrow Service Team, Marauders basketball hosts a pair of doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday, January 14-15. The UMary track team hosts its final indoor home meet of the season on Saturday.
The weekend begins with UMary basketball hosting Wayne State College on Friday at the McDowell Activity Center. The men's game tip off at 5:30 pm with the women's game to follow at 7:30. Saturday's doubleheader features a visit from Augustana University. The men square off at 3:30 pm. The women's game wraps up the day at 5:30 pm.
Marauders basketball game sponsor Arrow Service Team is providing complimentary tickets to the Jan. 14-15 games. Fans can stop by Arrow Service Team offices at 2925 East Broadway in Bismarck.
UMary will host five other teams at the Mike Thorson Open men's and women's indoor track & field meet on Saturday. Open to the public, field events begin at 11 am with track events starting at 12 noon inside the University of Mary Fieldhouse & Wellness Center.
Joining the Marauders for the Mike Thorson Open are Dickinson State University, the University of Jamestown, Minot State University, Northern State and Valley City State University.
Four-time NCAA Division I national champion Maggie Ewen will compete at the Mike Thorson Open as an unattached athlete. A 13-time All-American at Arizona State University and a native of Minnesota, Ewen set two NCAA records in her career and placed fourth in the shot put at the 2021 US Olympic trials. Her sister Alicia is a former Marauders volleyball player.
Game tickets for Marauders basketball are available online at www.UMaryTickets.com and at the gate. Adult tickets are $10 while senior citizen and youth tickets (13-18 years old) are $5. UMary students and faculty with their MCard and youth 12 and younger are admitted free.
Tickets for the Mike Thorson Open are $5 for fans of all ages and are available only at the door.
