Tetzlaff announces resignation as Marauders head volleyball coach

BISMARCK, ND – University of Mary head volleyball coach Korie Tetzlaff has resigned her position after leading the Marauders program for three years.

Named the Marauders head coach in January 2018, Tetzlaff coached 27 Northern Sun All-Academic Team selections and three Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award recipients. Each of her teams earned USMC/AVCA Academic Team honors and posted the UMary athletic department's top team grade point average for spring 2020. The volleyball team registered a 3.56 GPA for the 2020-21 academic year.

"I am proud of the job Coach Tetzlaff did this past year in such trying times," said UMary Director of Athletics Dale Lennon. "With the loss of their traditional fall season due to the pandemic and the constant unknowns throughout this year, Korie and her staff kept their team focused on improving on the court and excelling in the classroom."

"I want to thank Dale, the UMary athletic department, President Monsignor Shea, and the University of Mary for giving me the opportunity to lead this volleyball program these past few years," said Tetzlaff. "At this time, I am prioritizing my family, and I want to wish the absolute best of luck to the program in the coming years. I look forward to following the continued success of the Marauders athletic programs from a different viewpoint moving forward."

Jeni Walsh, UMary's Coordinator of Scholar-Athlete Academic Success and an assistant volleyball coach, will serve as the program's interim head coach. A search for a new head volleyball coach is now underway.

UMary is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, the nation's premiere NCAA Division II conference. NSIC teams have won nine of the last 13 national volleyball championships and consistently have eight or more teams ranked in national top 25 polls.
