Box Score MARSHALL, MN – The University of Mary volleyball team battled hard in a three-set defeat (25-15, 25-16, 25-21) to #14 Southwest Minnesota State University.
UMary (6-21, 3-16 Northern Sun) recorded 28 kills on a .096 attack percentage, while SMSU (20-6, 17-1 NSIC) posted 47 kills on a .365 hitting percentage. The Marauders had 28 assists and five aces, while the Mustangs had 41 assists and six aces.
The Mustangs took an early lead in the first two sets, and the Marauders were unable to rally back as SMSU won 25-15 and 25-16. UMary fought hard in the third but could not overcome the powerful SMSU attack, losing 25-21.

Dani Highum recorded seven kills and two blocks.
Maddy Freed posted 19 assists, eight digs, and two aces.
Myra Newman had seven kills.
Judith Burke put up six kills and seven digs.
Gabby Caskey had four kills and three blocks.
Natalie Boehmer dished out nine assists to go along with six digs.
Holli Klettheimer had four kills.
