THIS WEEKEND
The University of Mary women's basketball team takes to the road this weekend for their final regular season road trip of the season. The Marauders will first travel to Bemidji State to take on the Beavers on Friday, February 15 at 5:30 PM. They will then make the trip to Crookston, MN to take on Minnesota Crookston at 3:30 PM on Saturday, February 16.

LAST TIME OUT
The last time UMary took the court was for a weekend split with Upper Iowa and Winona State. The Marauders first took down Upper Iowa by a score of 69-65.
Macy Williams led the way with 16 points and four assists.
Gabbie Bohl and
Coral Gillette added twelve points a piece. In the second game of the weekend the Marauders fell to the Winona State Warriors. The short handed Marauders, down
Cassie Askvig, battled hard but could not overcome two WSU Warriors putting up over 20 points each. UMary lost 57-54.
Gabbie Bohl scored 11 points, had nine rebounds, one block and a steal.
Macy Williams recorded 10 points and four assists.
Lexie Schneider got her first career start and recorded 10 points and two steals.

The Marauders are 14-7 overall and 12-6 in NSIC play.

OPPO RESEARCH – BEMIDJI STATE
Bemidji State comes in with a record of 5-17 and 3-15 in conference play. The Beavers are currently on a four game losing streak. Taylor Bray leads to team in scoring and rebounding. Bray averages 9.5 PPG and 4.8 RPG. The Beavers are well rounded with eight players averaging four PPG or more.

HISTORY LESSON
The Beavers and Marauders began their all-time series Nov. 30, 1984, an 80-75 win by BSU, before taking a 22-year break between meetings… UMary leads the series 20-5, and has won seven of eight against BSU.

The last time UMary and BSU met was earlier this season when the Beavers handed the Marauders their first home loss of the season, 77-66.

 UMC comes into the game against the Marauders with a 10-14 record, going 5-13 in NSIC play. The Golden Eagles are currently on a six game losing streak. Isieoma Odor leads the conference in scoring with 18.4 PPG. She averages 8.9 RPG which ranks her seventh in the conference. Caitlin Michaelis also averages double digit points with 11 PPG.

The Marauders are 17-8 against the Golden Eagles since UMary joined the Northern Sun in the 2006-07 season… UMary is 8-5 at home and 9-3 on the road vs. UMC… The Marauders snapped a 5-game losing streak to the Golden Eagles in the last regular season game of the 2016-17 season.

The Marauders took down Minnesota Crookston 82-71 when they met earlier this season. Five Marauders scored double figures, including three who scored 19.

1,000 POINTS CLUB
Two Marauders have joined the list of just 19 UMary women's basketball players to score 1,000 career points this season. Gabbie Bohl became the 18th player to reach the milestone and
Cassie Askvig became the 19th. Both players reached their 1,000th career point by knocking down a free throw to convert on a three point play. Bohl scored her 1,000th career point during the first game of her junior year and Askvig during the 19th game of her junior year.Â

CLIMBING THE ALL TIME RANKINGS
Gabbie Bohl and
Cassie Askvig became the 18th and 19th Marauders to score their 1,000th career point. Bohl reached the milestone just one game into her junior year. Askvig hit the milestone 19 games into her junior year. Bohl has since moved into 9th on the all time rankings with a total of 1,358 career points. She recently passed Natalie Brunner (2001-05). Bohl will be tracking down Andrea Ronderos (2003-06) who scored 1,407 career points. The junior forward has moved into 13th all time in career rebounds with 590.Â
Cassie Askvig joins Bohl in the top 15 all time in career rebounds ranking 11th with 572. Askvig also moves into 18th all time in points scored with 1,013.

The UMary women's basketball program is nearing 700 wins. The Marauders need just five more wins to reach this mark.

NSIC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gabbie Bohl andÂ
Cassie Askvig (x2) both have won NSIC Player of the Week this season. Bohl won the award for her 28.5 PPG and 13.5 RPG performance over a two game stretch. Askvig was given the award for her 18.5 PPG and 15.5 RPG performance over the past weekend. Askvig earned the award for a second time when she averaged 25 PPG and 17.5 RPG while recording career highs of 34 points and 20 rebounds against WSC.Â

The UMary women's basketball team features no seniors. What the Marauders lack in seniors they make up for in experience. Several of the current players have been making a big impact for the Marauders since they were freshman, includingÂ
Gabbie Bohl who was named NSIC freshman of the year her freshman year, first team All-NSIC her sophomore year, and is the NSIC north preseason player of the year this season.Â

LIVING UP TO EXPECTATIONS
Big expectations surroundÂ
Gabbie Bohl coming into this season. The junior was named the NSIC North Preseason Player of the Year and has shown exactly why she received that honor so far this season. Bohl is averaging 18.8 PPG, 9.8 RPG, and 1.3 BPG. She was named the NSIC player of the week for her performance the weekend of December 7-8. She was named to the WWU Lynda Goodrich Classic All-Tournament Team for her performance in the teams two games in Washington. Bohl recorded her 1,000 career point in her first game of her senior year when she got a bucket and drew the foul. She would convert on the three point play to give herself 1,000 career points.
