THIS WEEK
The University of Mary volleyball team will play in a trio of games this week, beginning with a road match against MSU Moorhead on Tuesday, October 15 at 6 PM. The Marauders will then return home for a pair of home games. UMary hosts Minnesota State-Mankato on Friday, October 18 at 6 PM. The Marauders-Mavericks game will be streamed live on BEK SPORTS! They follow that up with another home game against Concordia – St. Paul on Saturday, October 19 at 2 PM. The UMary vs CSP game will be Alumni day! Both home games will be hosted at the McDowell Activity Center.

The Marauders come into the weekend with a 1-16 record, going 0-8 in NSIC play.

LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Marauders took the court was for a pair of highly competitive matches against Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State. UMary fell in both matches but they did not go down without a fight, taking both to four sets.
Morgan Schnabel led the way, posting double-doubles in both games.
Sydney Murphy joined the double-double party, recording one of her own against Minnesota Crookston. In a breakout performance, freshman
Nehkyah Ellis recorded her first career double-double against Bemidji State, leading the Marauders with 14 kills and 15 digs.

OPPO RESEARCH – MINNESOTA STATE – MOORHEAD
MSU Moorhead comes into the match against the Marauders with a 7-9 record, going 2-6 in NSIC play. The Dragons began the year on fire, winning their first four games. MSUM is led by Kaylyn Jenkins who ranks 13
th in the NSIC in hitting percentage (.309) and eighth in blocks with nearly one per set. The Dragons have claimed their two conference wins over Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston.

Minnesota State comes into the weekend with an 11-5 record, going 4-4 in the NSIC. The Mavericks are coming off an impressive weekend, sweeping two nationally ranked teams over the weekend in Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State. The two big wins earned them national attention, receiving votes in the most recent AVCA Coaches Poll. The Mavericks are led offensively by Morgan Olson who ranks 11
th in the NSIC in hitting percentage (.329) and second in kills/set with 4.37. Anissa Janzig ranks ninth in the NSIC in blocks with .96/set.

National powerhouse Concordia – St. Paul comes into the week with a 13-3 record, going 7-1 in NSIC play. CSP is ranked fifth in the nation. Their only blemish in conference play came against #7 Minnesota Duluth. Sara Macek ranks fourth in the NSIC in hitting percentage (.383). Tori Hanson ranks fifth in the NSIC in digs/set with 4.56. A force at the net for the Bears, Kennedy Brady ranks seventh in the NSIC, averaging one block/set.

The last time the Marauders and Bears met was during the 2018 season with CSP taking down UMary in three sets. UMary gave CSP a run in the second set, falling by the narrowest of margins.

Sydney Murphy recorded her 1,000
th career assist against Minnesota Duluth. Reaching the major milestone just 14 games into her junior season.
Morgan Schnabel joined her teammate by reaching a major career milestone. Schnabel reached her 500
th career kill against Bemidji State, just 17 games into her junior season.

Two Marauders are nearing big time career milestone.
Natalia Cruz has 654 career digs, surpassing the 600 digs mark and setting her sights on 1,000.
Katja Berge has 306 career kills, surpassing the 300 kills mark with her sights set on 500.
