Box Score ORLANDO – On a night of marathon matches, all but one singles match went to a super tiebreaker with the University of Mary tennis team falling short four times in a hard-fought 7-2 loss to Cederville. The loss snapped a two-game win streak for the Marauders on UMary's spring trip to Florida.
 
Five of the six singles matches took longer than two sets to decide with the Yellow Jackets winning four super-tiebreakers.
 
"We were as close as can be," said Marauders head coach Vida Saliendra. "All matches in singles had long points and we just couldn't put the balls away or we made the errors. This was a tough match but at the same tie it was a learning opportunity to be able to close points. A match like this helps to keep building our team for our upcoming conference matches. We need to learn to fix our mistakes and errors."
 
The Marauders captured the top singles match as Eileen Leong and Tasha Dembo earned an 8-2 win. The duo have won all three matches they have played together.
 
The Yellow Jackets claimed the other two doubles matchups to lead 2-1 entering single play.
 
Freshman Kelsey Jajom earned the Marauders lone singles win, defeating Halie Hardwick in three sets. After splitting the first two sets 6-3 and 4-6, Lajom rolled in the super tiebreaker 10-4 for the victory.
 
Suffering the reverse fate was Dembo, Lucia Bolibruch, Leong and Emily Bichler, who also lost the supertiebreaker. Bolibruch, Dembo and Leong all opened with wins in their first set before they each lost the second and the tiebreaker.
 
UMary, now 4-5 overall on the year, concludes its four-match spring trip to Florida on Friday, March 9, against Findlay.
