The University of Mary women's basketball team will head to Minot, ND to take on in-state rivals Minot State for the second time this season this weekend. The Marauders will take on the Beavers on Sunday, December 30 at 2 PM.

LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Marauders took to the court was for their first NSIC road challenges of the season. UMary split the weekend going 1-1. The Marauders suffered their first conference loss against MSU Moorhead by a score of 76-68.
Gabbie Bohl posted a big double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
Macy Williams added a season high of 21 points with
Cassie Askvig pitching in another 13. The Marauders took down Northern State in their second battle of the weekend by a score of 78-71.
Cassie Askvig tied her career high with 28 points in the game.
Jordyn Jossart posted a season high of 12 points.

The Marauders are 6-2 overall and 4-1 in NSIC play.

OPPO RESEARCH – MINOT STATE
The Beavers come into the game with a 5-6 record. Minot State started out fast going 5-1 to start the season but have struggled since entering conference play dropping their last five games, going 0-5 in conference play so far this season. Three of the teams conference losses have come by single digits. Three Minot State players are averaging double figures. Madison Wald leads the way with 14 PPG with Kari Clement averaging 13.4 and Mariah Payne averaging 11.1.

HISTORY LESSON
In a series that stretches back to the mid 1970s, the University of Mary holds a commanding 52-38 edge in the all-time series against Minot State University… The series went on hiatus when the Marauders moved to NCAA Division II and the Northern Sun in 2006 and resumed when the Beavers began NCAA play in 2011-12. Since renewing their Highway 83 rivalry, the Marauders hold a slight advantage over the Beavers at 8-7 overall and 7-6 in NSIC play… The Marauders recently posted recent season sweeps in 2014-15 and 2016-17… UMary is 4-4 at home and 4-3 on the road against Minot State over the last seven years.

LAST MEETINGÂ
The Marauders welcomed Minot State to Bismarck, ND for their conference opener this season the last time these two teams battled. The two teams fought hard against each other with the Marauders coming out on top 64-58 when the final buzzer rang.
Coral Gillette couldn't miss from behind the arc, knocking down five three pointers to post a game high of 18 points.
Gabbie Bohl added a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Â

UMary is third in the Northern Sun in points per game averaging 74.8. The Marauders have a plus 11.4 scoring margin over the opponents which ranks third in the Northern Sun.Â

Cassie Askvig who averages 17.0 PPG. The Marauders rank first in the conference in field goal percentage (46.6). Two Marauders rank in the top ten in individual field goal percentage. Bohl ranks fourth with a field goal percentage of 52.7 percent. Askvig sits right behind her in sixth with a field goal percentage of 51.6 percent. The Marauders ranks 14th in the nation if field goal percentage offense! Bohl ranks 24th in the nation individually in scoring.

Gabbie Bohl who was named NSIC freshman of the year her freshman year, first team All-NSIC her sophomore year, and is the NSIC north preseason player of the year this season.Â

LIVING UP TO EXPECTATIONS
Big expectations surroundÂ
Gabbie Bohl coming into this season. The junior was named the NSIC North Preseason Player of the Year and has shown exactly why she received that honor so far this season. Bohl is averaging 20.8 PPG, 10.1 RPG, and 1.1 BPG. She was named the NSIC player of the week for her performance the weekend of December 7-8. She was named to the WWU Lynda Goodrich Classic All-Tournament Team for her performance in the teams two games in Washington. Bohl recorded her 1,000 career point in her first game of her senior year when she got a bucket and drew the foul. She would convert on the three point play to give herself 1,000 career points.

CLIMBING THE ALL TIME RANKINGS
Gabbie Bohl became the 18th Marauders to score her 1,000 career point. She reached the milestone just one game into her junior year. She has since moved into 14th on the all time rankings with a total of 1,144 career points. She recently passed Nicole Meier (2002-06) who scored 1,129 points during her career. Bohl will be tracking down Renae Amundson (1986-90) next, Amundson has 1,180 career points. The junior forward has moved into 20th all time in career rebounds with 469.Â
Cassie Askvig joins Bohl in the top 25 all time in career rebounds ranking 25th with 444. Askvig also moves into 35th all time in points scored with 783.

NEARING MILESTONES

Rick Neumann is nearing the 100 win milestone. He is currently sitting at 95 wins. The UMary women's basketball program is nearing 700 wins. The Marauders need just 13 more wins to reach this mark.Â

SOUND ALL-AROUND
Cassie Askvig has been incredibly well rounded and consistent in nearly every aspect of the game for UMary. The junior is averaging 17.0 PPG, 7.8 RPG and 2.5 APG. Askvig is shooting 51.6 percent from behind the arc and 51.6 percent from the field.

NSIC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gabbie Bohl was named NSIC North player of the week for her performance the weekend of December 7-8. The junior averaged an NSIC high 28.5 PPG to go with her 13.5 RPG. She recorded a career high of 30 points against UMD. She posted a big double-double with 27 points and 19 boards to go along with three blocks against SCSU. She shot 75 percent from the field against UMD. She knocked down 13-14 free throws against SCSU
