THIS WEEK
The University of Mary women's basketball team will compete in the Western Washington Thanksgiving Classic in Bellingham, WA over the coming weekend. They will open tournament play against Western Washington University on Friday, November 23 at 7 PM. They will follow that game up with another game on Saturday, November 24 at 9:30 PM against Saint Martin's University.

LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Marauders took to the court was last week to open their season against Yellowstone Christian College. The Marauders would dominate the Centurions by a score of 113-59. Bohl led the way with 22 points.
Coral Gillette pitched in 19 points and
Cassie Askvig added 18. With Bohl's 22 points she would reach 1,000 on her career.

The Marauders followed that game up with a game against Rhema Bible. UMary outscored the Eagles by 80 points, 112-32. Bohl once again led the way with 22 points.
Lexie Schneider posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. She added four assists and two blocks to her outstanding game. Gillette (15), Dvorak (12), Askvig (10), and Heidlebaugh (11) all pitched in with double digit points on the game.

OPPO RESEARCH: Western Washington
Western Washington comes into the game against UMary with a 2-2 record. The two wins that the Vikings have, have not come easily. Their first win of the season came over Fresno Pacific by the narrowest of margins, 66-65. They would then take down Azusa Pacific by a score of 77-74. This was an overtime victory for WWU. Kelsey Rogers has average 25 PPG over their past two games.

OPPO RESEARCH: St. Martin's
Saint Martin's comes into the game against UMary with a 1-2 record. They opened their season with a 71-63 win over Pacific Lutheran University. They followed that up with two straight losses. The last time they took the court they fell 107-103 in a triple overtime thriller against Dixie State University.

1,000 POINT CLUB
Gabbie Bohl has become the 18th University of Mary women's basketball player to reach the 1,000 point mark. She reached the milestone in her first game of her junior year. The forward received a post feed from
Macy Williams in the third quarter of the game against YCC, Bohl went up strong getting the bucket and the foul. She would knock down the free throw to give herself a three point play and her thousandth career point!

TRIPLE DIGITS
The Marauders have put up over 100 points in their last two home games this season. They first put up 113 points against Yellowstone Christian followed by a 112 point game against Rhema.

THREE BALL
The Marauders shot 50 percent from behind the arc, knocking down 18 three pointers in their 36 attempts against Yellowstone Christian.
Coral Gillette led the team, knocking down six three pointers on her ten attempts. UMary would knock down 11 of their 26 three point attempts against Rhema. Gillette and
Shea Heidlebaugh led all Marauders with three, three pointers each.

WELL ROUNDED ATTACK
12 out of 13 Marauders would score against YCC including five who scored in the double figures. 11 out of 12 Marauders scored against Rhema. Six of those athletes recorded double digit points on the day.

THE RARE FOUR POINT PLAY
Gillette kicked off second half play against Yellowstone Christian by doing something that is not seen every day. The sophomore knocked down a three pointer while drawing a foul. She would head to the line to drain the free throw to convert on the four point play.

SHOOTING AND SCORING
The Marauders knocked down 66 of their 138 field goal attempts to shoot 47 percent between their two games last week.

PROTECTING THE HOME COURT
The Marauders have only allowed their opponents to score an average of 39 points per game during their three home games so far this season, including exhibition games. In those three games the Marauders have put up an average of 96 points per game.

ASSIST TO SCORE
The Marauders have been sharing the ball incredibly well. UMary recorded 30 assists in each of their games last week. The team looks to continue to set each other up for success in coming games.

LOOK BACK AT THE PRESEASON
UMary participated in two exhibition games to kick off the season. The Marauders took on division I South Dakota State for their first exhibition game of the season. The Marauders would fall to the Jackrabbits 77-46. Bohl led UMary with 13 points and 7 rebounds during the game. The Marauders dominated Concordia College in their second exhibition game of the season downing them 64-27. Bohl once again led the way posting a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Cassie Askvig pitched in another 16 points.Â

NSIC PRESEASON RANKINGS
The Marauders are picked to finish sixth overall in the 2018-19 NSIC Women's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll and third in the North Division.

UMary picked up 164 points in the overall poll and one first place vote. Sioux Falls is the preseason favorite to win the league, earning nine first place votes and 208 points total. MSU Moorhead (185) was picked second, followed by Concordia-St. Paul (178), Augustana (175), Minnesota Duluth (174), UMary (164), Winona State (163), Northern State (133), Minnesota State (114), Wayne State (98), St. Cloud State (97), Southwest Minnesota State (73), Minnesota Crookston (63), Minot State (42), Bemidji State (30), and Upper Iowa (23).

In the North division, Minnesota Duluth is the favorite to finish first, followed by MSU Moorhead, UMary, Northern State, St. Cloud State, Minnesota Crookston, Minot State and Bemidji State.
