MOORHEAD, MN – A walk-off overtime win by 
Dominic Tudor in the final match of the day lifted the University of Mary wrestling team to a 19-16 road victory over MSU Moorhead. Tudor executed a takedown in the first overtime to defeat Jordan Magnuson and deliver the Marauders win.
 
The Marauders and the Dragons split their five matches in the Northern Sun dual. The main difference was four bonus point wins for UMary to just one for MSUM.
 
With the match coming down to the final weight class, the first point at 285 was scored in the second period on an escape by Tudor. After a Magnuson takedown, Tudor again escaped to knot the score 2-2 through two. With Magnuson starting the third period on the bottom, a reversal by the Dragons freshman pushed him ahead of Tudor 4-2. The UMary heavyweight closed the gap to 4-3 on his third escape of the day. Tudor then earned a final point to force overtime on a pair of stall warnings on Magnuson. In overtime, Tudor claimed the sudden victory win with a takedown to not only win the individual match but the dual.
 
The Marauders jumped out to an early lead by claiming four of the first six matches to forge a 16-6 advantage.
 
Ninth ranked 
Tate Barnhardt claimed the Marauders first win of the day with a 14-3 major decision over Seth Hutchinson at 133. The win improved Barnhardt's season mark to 21-5.
 
Hunter Eckert immediately followed with an 11-5 win at 141 over Zach Scott to push the Marauders lead to 7-3
 
At 157 senior 
Jared Reis earned his first Marauders win with a dominant effort. The transfer from Oregon State overwhelmed Patrick Freeman to gain a technical fall win in just 3:52, the match ending with Reis leading 16-0.
 
UMary continued to roll at 165 with 11
th ranked 
Phillip Springsteen claiming an 8-0 major decision over Weston Dobler. Fifth in the nation in pins, the redshirt freshman improved to 20-5 in his first collegiate season.
 
The Dragons began to claw back into the match with a pair of close wins. Looking to upset #10 Adam Blees at 174, 
Austin Eichmann led 1-0 after two periods before moving to overtime after Blees managed to escape in the third. After two scoreless overtimes, Blees managed to break free from Eichmann's grasp for the winning point on an escape for the 2-1 win.
 
At 184, 
Jackson Schichel narrowly lost 3-2 to MSUM's Mitchell Kotschevar to pull the Dragons within 16-12. A major decision for MSUM at 197 then knotted the match to set up a dramatic finish at 285.
 
The win snapped a three-game losing string for the Marauders and evened UMary's season and NSIC record at 5-5 and 2-2. MSUM is 1-6 and 0-4.
 
The Marauders continue their three-game road swing at Southwest Minnesota State and Augustana on February 2-3.
