THIS WEEK
With just four weekends remaining in the regular season, the University of Mary mens basketball team takes their farthest conference road trip of the season when the Marauders visit Upper Iowa University and Winona State University on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 27-28. The first stop is Fayette, IA, against the Northern Sun South Division-leading Peacocks on Friday at 8 pm. The weekend concludes against the Warriors in Winona, MN, on Saturday at 6 PM. Â
THE RECORD
After splitting a pair of home games, the Marauders are 8-12 overall and 6-8 against Northern Sun foes. Mary is 9th overall in the NSIC and fourth in the NSIC North.

WINONA STATE UNIVERSITY WARRIORS HEADLINES
Winona State is 8-10 overall and 5-9 in the NSIC, sitting in a tie for 11th overall in the conference and sixth in the NSIC South
The Warriors are 3-1 against NSIC North teams, including a home sweep of Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State and a win in overtime at Minnesota Duluth
Currently WSU is in the midst of a 3-game losing streak, including a pair of home losses last weekend to Wayne State and Augustana

REWIND
The Marauders split a pair of home games to remain tied for fourth in the NSIC North at 6-8 in league play and 8-12 overall. Posting one of their best offensive games of the season, the Marauders outlasted Minnesota Crookston 94-89. The game featured 22 lead changes and seven ties. Mary hit 11-of-12 free throws in the final 63 seconds to ensure the win after making 55.6 percent of its shots for the game.
Bryan Jefferson scored a season-high 28 points and added nine rebounds.
Rickey Suggs tied his career-high with 19 points.

Damonta Henry reaching 1,000 career points, the Marauders offense went cold the next night in a 78-67 home loss to Bemidji State. Mary shot 42.4 percent and 31.3 percent on treys. Henry hit three treys and scored 19 points. Jefferson posted 20 points and nine rebounds. Isaac Lundquist added 13 points. Sharif Black led BSU with 18 points.
LINDQUIST EARNS NSIC MYLES BRAND ACADEMIC HONOR

Isaac Lindquist was one of nine Marauders to receive the Northern Sun's Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction honor, one of the highest honors awarded by the NSIC. Student-athletes must have at least a 3.75 grade point average and be a senior on course to graduate and will exhaust their athletic eligibility this year. The Milbank, SD, native is in his third season as a starter in the post for the Marauders and will earn a degree in Business Administration and Psychology.
STREAK
As the season moves into crunch time for playoff positioning, the Marauders have won three of their last four games and are tied with Minot State for the fourth and final home berth in the NSIC North Division. Both teams are 6-8 in league play and have split the season series. Bemidji State is one game back.
HENRY 18th MARAUDER TO REACH 1,000 CAREER POINTS

Damonta Henry became just the 18th University of Mary men's basketball player to reach 1,000 career points in the 47th season of Marauders hoops. He reached the career milestone with a 3-pointer against Bemidji State University on Jan. 21. It was his first shot of the game and came just moments after entering the contest for the first time. He finished the day with 19 points. In the game he leapfrogged both Craig Steffan (1,004 career points) and Tracy Porter (1,006) on the all-time scoring list. Henry is now 16th all-time.

Bryan Jefferson has joined an exclusive club in Marauders history after cracking the 1,000 point and 500 rebound barrier. The 17th Marauder with 1,000 points, only seven Mary players have 500 rebounds. Additionally, the Aurora, IL, native is the 5th player in school history to crack both 1,000 points and 500 rebounds. The others are Roger Klemisch (1,465 points and 782 rebounds), Jerome Nichols (1,366 and 707), Rory Entzi (1,870 and 609) and Eric Erdmann (1,642 and 603).
Jefferson is currently 12th all-time with 1,1127 points. He passed All-American Anthony Moody last weekend and is just two points behind Jordan Wilhelm. Scott Kleinjan is the Marauders all-time scoring leader with 2,268.
With a weekend similar to last when he scored 48 points in two games, Jefferson could leap into the school's all-time top ten list, as he is just behind #12 Jordan Wilhelm (1,129), #11 Bruce Ashworth (1,136), #10 Kurt Schwamp (1,149) and #9 Rusty Gillette (1,167).
Jefferson is 7th all-time in rebounding with 546. Next on the list is Dave Hanson (553). Roger Klemisch is the all-time Marauders rebounding leader with 782.
PRESIDENTIAL
Senior all-NSIC forward
Bryan Jefferson had another big weekend with 48 points and 18 rebounds. He had a season-high 28 points in the win over Minnesota Crookston and followed with 20 points against Bemidji State. It was the second time this season Jefferson has posted back-to-back 20 point games.
The Aurora, IL, native had nine rebounds against both UMC and BSU to just miss a couple more double doubles
He gained his third double double of the season with 21 points and a career-high 15 rebounds against MSU Moorhead
He has just missed double digits in rebounds several times this season, ending with nine boards in six different games
Only the third Mary player to earn All-NSIC 1st team honors, Jefferson is currently 13th in the league in scoring (15.6 PPG) and 5th in rebounds (7.4 RPG)
Jefferson has led the Marauders in scoring five times and rebounding 13 times this season

ROAD TO 1,000 REACHED

Damonta Henry became the 17th and 18th members of the Marauders men's basketball program to score 1,000 career points this season. The last time that milestone was reached at Mary was by Jordan Wilhelm and Anthony Moody during the 2011 season. Including Eric Erdmann, who reached 1,000 points in 2010, there are now five Marauders who have reached quadruple digits during Mary's NCAA era.
OH HENRY
Damonta Henry reached 1,000 career points against Bemidji State on Jan. 21, the 18th Marauder to reach that career milestone.
The junior guard from Chicago had a strong weekend, scoring 16 points against UMC and 19 against BSU. In the two games he was 13-of-35 from the field and made 5-of-10 3-point attempts.
Henry has cracked 20 points four times this season, including a career-best 26 points against Yellowstone Christian
In his past four games Henry is averaging 17 points per game while making 11-of-18 3-pointers and 23-of-46 field goals
The senior guard has led the Marauders in scoring seven times this season
Henry leads the Marauders in treys (44) and is second in scoring (14.6 PPG). His scoring average is 20th in the NSIC

INSTANT IMPACT
After providing a jolt to the Marauders offense and defense all season, senior G/F
Rickey Suggs has made a recent move into the starting lineup. In seven games as a starter he is averaging 14.4 PPG and 5.7 RPG while shooting 54.1 percent. Playing in his back yard, the Woodbury, MN, native posted a career-high 19 points in the win at Concordia-St. Paul. He followed up last weekend with 19 points against UMC. Suggs is 3rd on the team with 10.8 PPG, second in rebounds at 4.5/game, leads the squad field goal percentage (.534) and fourth in steals with 17.
LINEUP ADJUSTMENT

Erron Collins earned his first carer starts for the Marauders against Northern State and MSU Moorhead. He hit a trey against both the Dragons and the Wolves and has scored in 13 of 20 games this year. He has a trey in five straight games and is 6-of-12 in that stretch.
STOP THIEF
The Marauders are third in the NSIC lead in steals with 6.6 per game. A true team effort,
Pat Thomas leads Mary and is 5th in the NSIC at 1.4 steals/game and 28 on the season.

TURNOVERS
Feeding off its penchant to steal the ball from its opponents, Mary leads the NSIC in turnover margin. The Marauders are +3.5 per game, committing 10.0 turnovers/game while forcing 13.5. After suffering a -2 in turnover margin in the season opener, the Marauders turned the ball over fewer times than their opponents in eight straight games, including a +3 mark against NCAA Division I and Big Ten member Nebraska. For the season the Marauders have held the turnover edge in 13 games with one draw while opponents have held the edge six times. Â

Pat Thomas is 13th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 3.12 and is 5th in the NSIC in assists per game at 3.9. He missed the Marauders NCAA-era school single game assist record by one as his passes directly led to 10 baskets for Mary against Yellowstone Christian. Thomas also added 10 points against the Centurions for the first Marauders double double of the season.
