BRADENTON, Fla. – Two fantastic seasons – plus one career – came to a close today for the University of Mary's Faith Kjelstrup and Tonie-Ann Pandohie on day two of the 2016 NCAA Division II Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Bradenton, Fla. Both Marauders fell just short of reaching the finals in their individual events but will be rewarded as second team All-Americans.
 
Despite exploding for a personal-best in the triple jump for the third straight meet, Kjelstrup closed out her career by finishing 11^th in the nation in her first and only time competing in the event at nationals. The senior from Glendive, Montana, saved her career-best jump for last, sailing 40' 4" in her third try of the day and last collegiate attempt.
 
Ranked third at the conclusion of the first flight, the Northern Sun champion witnessed eight competitors in the second flight pass by and bump Kjelstrup out of the finals. Seeded 15^th out of the 22 competitors entering the day, this was the second straight meet she exceeded 40'.
 
In a career-best non-wind-aided time, Pandohie placed 12^th nationally in the 100 meter hurdles. The sophomore All-American from Kingston, Jamaica, cleared the barriers in 13.95 seconds to place fourth in the third and final flight. She missed the final eight that qualified for Saturday's finals by .13 seconds.
 
Both Pandohie and Kjelstrup earned NCAA All-American honors originally for the Marauders after helping the 2015 U-Mary 4x100 meter relay team place sixth at the outdoor championships.
 
Two more Marauders have yet to compete at the 2016 NCAA championships. Waiting until Saturday to compete on the final day is Molly McDonald in the high jump and Alexis Zeis in the 5000 meter run.
 
Davina Carr headlined the opening day for U-Mary with a runner-up finish in the pole vault.
