BEMIDJI, Minn. – After missing much of the indoor season due to injury,
Kathryn Stewart flashed her All-American form at the Bemidji State Twilight by setting a University of Mary women's indoor track & field record in the 60 meter dash.
Stewart's efforts were one of six individual wins on the day for the 11
th ranked Marauders and one of two NCAA provisional qualifying marks.
A senior from Kingston, Jamaica, Stewart blazed her way to a time of 7.65 seconds in the 60 meter dash. It edges the school record of 7.67 Stewart set in 2013. The clocking is the second-best in the Northern Sun this season and 20
th in the nation.
Tonie Pandohie captured two titles on the day. The freshman was timed at 9.11 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles and 26.14 in the 200 meter run to earn the top spot in both races.
Davina Carr cleared the pole vault bar at a height of 12' 10' to claim victory. Her effort boosts her to the sixth-best mark overall in the nation.
Sophomore
Melanie Rodriguez was timed at 58.55 in the 400 meter run to win the event. Right behind in second at 59.21 was
Kameya Johnson, allowing the Marauders to capture 1-2 in the event.
In the long jump, freshman
Jasmyn Garcia sailed 17' 11' to claim the win.
A couple other Marauders also finished as runners up in their event. Staph Braunagel was second in the triple jump after leaping 34' 6.25".
Kaycee Luke posted a height of 11' 3.75" in the pole vault.
The Marauders next compete at the 2015 Northern Sun indoor track & field championships on February 26-27 in Mankato, Minn.
