Box Score BISMARCK, N.D. - Although unusually quiet in the first half,
Brittney Dietz took her turn in the driver's seat in the second half as the University of Mary Women's basketball team (9-16, 7-12 NSIC) broke away from a 19-19 tie and eventually secured a 55-45 victory over Bemidji State University (6-18, 3-16 NSIC) to tip off the Marauder's senior weekend at the McDowell Activity Center.

The first half was plagued by missed opportunities as neither team could get the advantage over the other. Bemidji State opened up the game with an 8-0 run that lasted until the first media break, but after the brief stoppage the Marauders came roaring back with a 19-6 run to surge ahead at 19-14 with 3:15.

However the offensive drought was apparent as U-Mary shot 26.9% compared to the Beavers' 21.4% and the first half ended in a 19-19 tie.

Imposing her will in the second half after being mostly dormant in the first, Dietz netted the first 15 points for the Marauders to regain the lead at 34-28.
Dani Williams netted a three pointer and
Sloan Turner added a layup to keep U-Mary on top 39-28 with 9:47 remaining in the game.

Bemidji St. offered some resistance as a three pointer at 8:58 narrowed the Marauder lead to 39-33, but the Marauders wouldn't allow them to get any closer en route to a 55-45 victory.

Dietz finished the game with 22 points, all in the second half, on 6-for-9 from the field and 9-for-10 from the line. She also added one steal, one assists and one rebound in her 35 minutes of action.

Turner added her third double double in the last six games as she finished with 11 points and sixteen rebounds. She also added one block in her 31 minutes on the court.

Hannah Larson got her sixth double double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds in 36 minutes. She also added four blocks, three steals, and one assist, as she was a force on the floor tonight.

Dani Williams got the call from the bench tonight and she responded with eight points, five rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 33 minutes.

Dani Clarke was somewhat quiet tonight but she turned into a distributor as she finished with seven assists and also grabbed five rebounds in her 33 minutes played.

The Marauders conclude the home portion of their regular season schedule tomorrow night against the University of Minnesota Crookston. The game will be broadcasted on the NBC North Dakota Sports Network, Me-TV.
