New Orleans –
Jennifer Agnew and
Melissa Walker headline the University of Mary's 2013 All-Central Region selections by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The two seniors were both double recipients and 11 members of the Marauders men's and women's outdoor track and field athletes combined to earn 13 regional honors.
The top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three earned USTFCCCA All-Region distinction for this season.
Agnew earned all-region awards for her efforts in the steeplechase and the 5,000 meter run while Walker was noted for her work in the 100 meter hurdles and on the 4x100 meter relay.
Melissa Agnew claimed all-region honors for her success in the 1,500 meter run.
Megan Jenkins was cited for the 400 meter hurdles and
Janet Johnson the 100 meter hurdles.
Alicia Nehl earned accolades for her clocking in the steeplechase and
Kathryn Stewart in the 200 meter dash.

Faith Kjelstrup and
Brittney McKinley join Walker as all-region performers for their efforts in the 4x100 meter relay.
Representing the U-Mary men's team in earning all-region honors is
Tracy Lide for his effort in the 100 meter dash.

Melissa Agnew, Johnson, Walker, Stewart and Nehl will all represent U-Mary at the NCAA Division II men's and women's outdoor track and championships on May 23-25 in Pueblo, CO.
