Agnew Sets Record, Harmon Claims Title for Marauders at Cobber Duals

MEN'S RESULTS   WOMEN'S RESULTS

Moorhead, MN – Melissa Agnew set a University of Mary school record and two teammates blazed to provisional national qualifying times for the while Tad Harman claimed an individual title for the Marauders men's squad at the Cobber Duals in Moorhead, MN, on Saturday.
 
Agnew covered the 1,000 meters in 2:54.56 to set a school mark. She placed second in the event. A week earlier the junior from Onamia, MN, reached an automatic qualifying time in the mile.
 
Janet Johnson and Kristyn Nelson placed 1-2 in the 60 meter hurdles and both hit provisional qualifying time standards in the event. Johnson covered the distance in 8.73 seconds and Nelson ran an 8.94. The pair also finished 2-3 in the 60 meter dash.
Johnson also picked a fourth place finish in the long jump.
 
Jennifer Agnew claimed the 3,000 meter run in a fieldhouse record.
 
Kayla Montgomery finished first in the 200 meter dash and Rikki Schmidt claimed the 400.
 
Megan Jenkins had the top clocking in the 600. Jenkins and Schmidt teamed up with Emilee Morehouse and Erin Leier to win the distance medley relay. U-Mary's team of Crystal Hovland, Kameya Johnson, Kayla Schuh and Kaitlyn Wurnig won the 1,600 meter relay.
 
A senior from Moses Lake, WA, Harmon placed first in the shot put with a toss of 48-9. It was the lone Marauders win of the day. Harmon also finished sixth in the weight throw.
 
The Marauders 1600 meter relay team also placed first as Chase Dixon, Jordan Davis, Cory Ploof and Deland Weyrauch combined to run a 3:30.73.
 
Dixon had a busy day. In addition to the 1600 relay, he placed third in the long jump, fifth in the 60 meter hurdles and sixth in the 60 meter dash.
 
Jesse Bennett ran a 1:55.59 in the 800 to place second and led the Marauders distance medley relay team, which also included Jordan Washington, Jonathan Price and Thomas Kjerengtroen, to a runner-up finish.
 
Kendall Kautz also had a runner-up finish, placing second in the high jump with an effort of 6-0.
 
A busy upcoming week for the Marauders, U-Mary will have athletes compete in the Iowa State Classic, NDSU Bison Classic and the Northern Sun indoor multi championships.
