A four-time competitor at the South Dakota High School Cross Country Championships, Alyssa Bornhoft placed career-best 30th as a senior in 2014. In track she finished 12th in the 3,200 meter run as a junior, ran on the 11th place 4x800 relay team as a sophomore. Her freshman year in 2012, Bornhoft was 13th in the 3,200 meter run and 8th in the 4x800 meter relay.
