BISMARCK, ND – University of Mary Athletics invites all fans and friends of the Marauders to celebrate our first 701 Day on July 1. The beginning of a new tradition, 701 Day was created to rally together UMary alumni, fans, students, parents and all other followers of the Blue & Orange to show support of Marauders Athletics and our more than 500 Marauder scholar-athletes.
701 Day, named for North Dakota's 701 area code and the 7/01 abbreviation for July 1, marks the start of the new 2026-27 UMary athletics season calendar. This makes 701 Day an ideal opportunity for the entire Marauders community to join together to celebrate the impact of the program and support the continued growth of Marauders Athletics.
"701 Day is an opportunity to celebrate what makes Marauders Athletics so special - our people," said Marcus Wagner, UMary director of intercollegiate athletics. "From our scholar-athletes and coaches to our alumni, parents, fans, and supporters, every member of our community plays an important role in helping us pursue Greatness Through Virtue. We hope 701 Day becomes a tradition that brings Marauders near and far together year after year."
Throughout 701 Day, supporters are encouraged to participate in a variety of ways:
- Wear Marauder gear
- Make a gift to Marauders Athletics
- Join or renew a Marauders Armada membership
- Purchase 2026-27 season tickets
- Follow Marauders Athletics on social media.
Supporting the Marauders Armada and Marauders Athletics directly impacts the scholar-athlete experience at the University of Mary and provides invaluable opportunities for continued success in competition, academics, leadership, and service.
Marauders Athletics warmly invites the entire community to join together in celebrating what it means to be a Marauder and investing in the future of our programs and scholar-athletes.
