Mykael Loera-Prado

Mykael Prado joined the University of Mary Athletics Department in October 2025 and currently serves as the Coordinator of Athletic Development, supporting fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and strategic initiatives that enhance the experience of UMary scholar-athletes.
 
In his role, Prado works closely with Athletic Development leadership to cultivate donor relationships, coordinate hospitality and stewardship efforts, and assist with fundraising campaigns that support the long-term growth of Marauders Athletics. His background in external relations, game-day operations, and donor engagement allows him to create meaningful experiences for supporters while advancing departmental goals.
 
Prado also serves as a Conference Representative for the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD). He was nominated as the Southland Conference representative during his time at the University of the Incarnate Word and transitioned into the role representing the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) upon joining the University of Mary.
 
Prior to joining UMary, Prado served as the Development Assistant for the Cardinals Club at the University of the Incarnate Word. During his time at UIW, he contributed to a 180% increase in softball ticket revenue, helped secure the program’s first-ever premium suite sale, coordinated Cardinals Club hospitality events, facilitated VIP access and premium seating, and supported major fundraising initiatives, including Give Day efforts that raised $26,000. He also assisted with game management operations for the NCAA Men’s Final Four in San Antonio.
 
Before transitioning into athletic development, Prado worked in Athletic Facilities and Operations, assisting with event management and hosting postseason playoff competitions. Earlier in his career, he was a student-athlete at Northwestern College (Iowa) before serving as Equipment Manager for the Northwestern College Football Team, which won the 2022 NAIA National Championship and finished as national runner-up in 2023. He also worked as a Student Assistant for Athletic Facilities and Operations at Northwestern College.
 
A native of Montebello, California, Prado earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management with emphases in Leadership and Business from Northwestern College. He completed his master’s degree at the University of the Incarnate Word and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Education (EdD) in Organizational Change and Administration at California Baptist University.
