BURNSVILLE, MN – After an outstanding two days at the NSIC Championships, University of Mary women's track and field senior
Kristine Kalthoff has been named the Northern Sun Indoor Track Athlete of the Year.
Kalthoff had a weekend to remember at the NSIC Championships. She started with a runner-up finish in the 5000m to earn All-NSIC honors. Kalthoff then was the final leg of the victorious Distance Medley Relay. On Saturday, the senior won both the Mile and 3000m races, taking home her first career individual titles.
Kalthoff, who is originally from Albany, MN, was responsible for 30.5 team points at the conference championships, earning the title of High Point Performer of the meet.
This is the second consecutive year that a UMary athlete has been named NSIC Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, with distance standout
Alyssa Becker winning the award in 2025. Kalthoff is the seventh Marauder ever to win the award.
Kalthoff and UMary will begin the outdoor season at home on March 21 with the Marauders Outdoor Opener. The meet will be held at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.
