UMary men’s track and field sets three personal bests at Bison Open

FARGO, ND – University of Mary men's track and field sent eight athletes to the Bison Open and several freshmen hit new personal records.

Freshman Sean Zwisler hit a new best mark in the High Jump with a 1.84m score, placing 12th, the second-best for any first-year athletes in the event. Zwisler has raised his High Jump PR in all four meets he's competed in this season.

Freshman John DiPrima hit his best mark of the season in the Pole Vault with a 4.10m score, placing 13th. His previous best of 4.08m was set nearly two months ago.

Freshman Grant Quam added 0.33m to his Triple Jump PR with a distance of 11.89m, placing 16th.

The lone point-scorer for UMary at the meet was junior thrower Jake Hettinger, who placed 7th in the Shot Put with a 16.12m. He had the second-best distance among Division II athletes.

Sophomore distance runner Luke Mortensen, who did not compete in cross country this year, took 46 seconds off his season-best time in the 3000m with a 9:48.89, placing 23rd.

The Marauders will be traveling to South Dakota next week for the SDSU Classic hosted by South Dakota State University from Feb. 13 to 14.
