SIOUX FALLS, SD – The University of Mary women's basketball team opens postseason play in the quarterfinals of the NSIC tournament against Southwest Minnesota State University on Sunday, March 1, at 11 am in Sioux Falls, SD, at the Sanford Pentagon.
The winner will advance to the semifinals and face the winner of Minnesota State/St. Cloud State on Monday, March 2, at 11 am.

UMary is 22-9 overall and 15-7 in the Northern Sun.

The Marauders went 1-1 last week. UMary defeated Northern State University 79-69 on the road in overtime and fell 69-66 to the University of Jamestown in overtime at home.

Emily Jaenke has knocked down the most threes (58) on the Marauders, shooting 43.9% from behind the arc. She leads UMary in scoring off the bench, averaging 7.6 ppg. She ranks 9
th in the NSIC in three-pointers made per game.
Eden Fridley leads the team in assists per game (3.8) and assist/turnover ratio (1.8). Fridley is 4th in total assists (115) in the NSIC, 2nd in assist/turnover ratio, and 4th in assists per game.
OPPO RESEARCH – SMSU
Southwest Minnesota State University is 17-11 overall and 14-8 in the Northern Sun. The Mustangs earned the fifth seed in the NSIC Tournament and defeated the University of Minnesota Crookston 77-65 in the first round of the playoffs. Senior forward leads the team in scoring, averaging 17.9 ppg on 43.4% shooting from the field. Sophomore guard Nicole Maenke holds the most assists (74) on SMSU and is second in scoring (14.1 ppg). Sophomore forward Kylan Gerads is averaging 12.9 points and 6.2 rebounds a game.
KINNEBREW - NSIC NORTH PLAYER OF THE YEAR
After a tremendous regular season campaign,
Bergan Kinnebrew was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference's North Division Player of the Year for her dominant performance during the 2025-26 season. Kinnebrew led the conference in scoring, averaging 22.2 ppg on 45.3% shooting from the field. She leads the nation in free throws made (229) and is second in total points scored (643). The Bismarck, ND, native set the NSIC single-season record for free throws attempted (177) and free throws made (156) during conference play.
UNDLIN NAMED FIRST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE
For the first time in her career,
Allison Undlin earned NSIC First-Team All-Conference honors. Undlin made an immediate impact in her first season starting for the Marauders, averaging 15.8 points and 8.3 rebounds a game. The Mohall, ND, native ranked second in the conference in field goal percentage (61.1%) and blocks (61), 4
th in rebounding, and 12
th in scoring. Undlin scored double-digits in 22 straight games to end the regular season. She recorded six blocks in three separate games. Undlin finished the regular season with eight double-doubles, which led the team.
KINNENBREW 1,000 CAREER POINTS
Bergan Kinnebrew reached the 1,000-point milestone in an 83-79 overtime win over the University of Sioux Falls. She becomes the 24
th Marauder reach that 1k milestone and the 12
th to do so in the NCAA era. Kinnebrew currently ranks 15
th all-time in UMary history with 1,230 career points.

COACHING STAFF
Rick Neumann enters his 14
th season as the head coach of the UMary women's basketball program. Last season, Neumann passed Fred Fridley for second all-time in program wins last season. He achieved his 200
th win on 11.7.2025 against MSU Billings.
Haley Froelich enters her second season as the Marauders assistant coach. Froelich served as the assistant coach at Clarke University for the 2023-24 season, where the Pride went 29-3 and made it to the second round of the NAIA tournament.

Bergan Kinnebrew was announced as the UMary women's basketball Player to Watch for the 2025-26 season.
Last year, Kinnebrew led the team in scoring, averaging 15.5 points per game. The Bismarck, ND, native shot 38.8% from the field, 35.2% from three, and 84.4% from the free-throw line. The junior ranked 9

The NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll projected the Marauders to finish 6th in the conference this season and 2
nd in the NSIC North. Last season, UMary finished tied for fifth in the NSIC during the regular season and was knocked out in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.
