BISMARCK, ND – University of Mary men's track and field will head to the NSIC Championships with momentum, accumulating nine individual victories at the Marauders Tune-Up. The meet was held on Feb. 21 at the UMary Fieldhouse.
Jake Hettinger was the lone Marauder to achieve an NCAA provisional mark, doing so in the Shot Put. The junior won the event with a 16.52m throw, ranking him 41
st in the nation and 7
th in the NSIC.
Dawson Hawkinson had a strong day, winning both the 60m and 200m Dash. He set a PR in the 60m with a 6.89 time. That moves him up one spot into a tie for 11
th in the conference. In the 200m, he won with a 21.96.
Freshman
Josiah Pena earned his first career win with a victory in the 600m Dash. While he did PR with a 1:24.59, he remains 19
th in the NSIC in the event.
Freshman
Zacarias Troutman also tallied his first career win, topping the leaderboard in the 3000m. His time of 8:59.89 cut over 10 seconds off his PR.
Will Mickelson reached 2.00m on the High Jump for the first time this season, winning the event. He is now tied for 11
th in the conference. Mickelson also won the Triple Jump with a PR of 13.38m, ranking 19
th in the conference.
Kenny Moxey Jr. won the Long Jump with a PR of 6.80m. The multi-athlete is 2
nd in the conference in the Heptathlon heading into next week's championships.
Sean Erickson hit a PR in the weight throw with a 17.65m distance. That propels him to 8
th in the conference.
