Continuing her historic season,
Bergan Kinnebrew was announced as the WBCA/D2CIDA National Player of the Week. She becomes the first University of Mary women's basketball player to earn this honor.
Kinnebrew helped lead UMary (20-7, 13-5 NSIC) to wins over Minnesota Duluth and Bemidji State by averaging 31 points, 3.5 rebounds, and three assists per game, while also going 16-of-29 (55%) from the field and making all but one of her 29 free throw attempts in the two contests.
The Bismarck, ND, native dropped 40 points, one short of tying her career-high, in a 76-66 victory over the University of Minnesota Duluth. Kinnebrew shot 9-of-17 from the field, 1-of-2 from three, and a remarkable 21-of-22 from the free-throw line. She also had five rebounds, two assists, and one block.Â
Kinnebrew followed up by scoring 22 points and dishing out four assists in an 85-54 win over Bemidji State University. She shot 7-of-12 from the field and a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line.
Kinnebrew leads the NSIC in scoring, averaging 22.5 ppg on 46.2% shooting from the field. She is second in the NCAA in total points and third in points per game.
