Marauders defeat Beavers 85-54 to earn 20th win

BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary women's basketball team picked up their 20th win of the season, defeating Bemidji State University 85-54 at home. The Marauders remain in a tie for third in the Northern Sun conference standings.

UMary (20-7, 13-5 NSIC) shot 28-of-59 (47.5%) from the field and 6-of-23 (26.1%) from three, while holding BSU (8-14, 5-13 NSIC) to 22-of-61 (36.1%) from the floor and 3-of-26 (11.5%) from behind the arc. The Marauders shot 23-of-31 (74.2%) from the free-throw line, while the Beavers went 7-of-12 (58.3%) from the charity stripe.

Bergan Kinnebrew led all scorers with 22 points to go along with four assists. The Bismarck, ND, native shot 7-of-12 from the field and a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line. Kinnebrew set the single-season free-throw record with 203 made from the charity stripe, surpassing Lexie Schneider, who had 201 in the 2023-24 season.

Allison Undlin recorded 21 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Undlin went 8-of-9 from the field and 1-of-1 from behind the arc. Anna Lenzen had 11 points and five rebounds. Eden Fridley dished out five assists and brought down six boards.

Chloe Pfau knocked down her 100th career three-pointer against the Beavers, finishing with eight points and seven rebounds. Brenna Dick scored a season-high seven points off the bench to go along with two steals. Cassie Erickson contributed five points and one block.

UMary ended the first quarter with a 16-10 lead after Pfau drilled her 100th career three to beat the buzzer. The Marauders extended their lead to 44-29 heading into halftime.

Kinnebrew scored 13 of her 22 points in the third quarter to extend the UMary lead to 67-48 at the end of the period. The Marauders continued to dominate the game in the fourth quarter, holding the Beavers to six points to win the game 85-54.

UMary continues their good work on the glass, outrebounding BSU 45-31. The Marauders committed eight turnovers, compared to 11 giveaways by the Beavers. UMary finished the season series 2-0 against BSU.

The Marauders head to Moorhead, MN, to compete against Minnesota State University Moorhead on Thursday, February 12, at 5:30 pm.
