BURNSVILLE, MN – After playing a pivotal role in helping lead the University of Mary swimming and diving team to a 2-0 dual record over the weekend,
Olivia Gibbons was named the NSIC Swimmer of the Week. Gibbons helped secure the Marauders their first-ever undefeated season.
Gibbons took down four individual events and was a member of four winning relay teams against MSU Moorhead and Concordia-St. Paul.
She took down the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.43) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.12) against the Dragons. Gibbons won the 50-yard breaststroke (30.40) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.31) against the Golden Bears.
Gibbons was part of the 200-yard medley relay team (1:49.29) and the 400-yard free relay team (3:37.52) that won against MSUM. She was a member of the winning 400-yard medley relay (4:01.24) and the 200-yard free relay (1:38.56) teams against the Golden Bears.
Gibbons ranks first in the NSIC in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. She is second in the conference in the 50 breaststroke and third in the 50 free.
The next competition for UMary will be the 2026 NSIC Championship. The event will take place from February 11-14 at the Hulbert Aquatic Center in West Fargo, ND.
