MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN – The University of Mary swimming and diving team (6-0) completed its first-ever undefeated season in program history, defeating Concordia-St. Paul 149.5-144.5 on the road.
The meet opened with the 400 Yard Medley Relay, where the team of
Olivia Gibbons,
Grace Urke,
Peyton Wunderlich, and
Maria Strong won with a time of 4:01.24.
Samantha Sheridan (18:35.98) and
Gabrielle Evanson (19:04.84) placed first and second in the 1650 Yard Freestyle. Sheridan (5:32.20) and Evanson (5:34.01) would take first and second again in the 500 Yard Freestyle.
Elise Altringer took down the 200 Yard Freestyle, recording a time of 1:59.74.
Olivia Gibbons continued her impressive run by winning the 50 yard breaststroke with a time of 30.40. Gibbons (1:07.31) won her second event of the day in the 100 Yard Breaststroke.
The 100 Yard Butterfly would see
Maria Strong (59.21) and
Emma Sheppard (1:01.54) take gold and silver.
Grace Urke placed first in the 100 Yard Backstroke after she posted a time of 1:01.72.
Peyton Wunderlich picked up the victory in the 50 Yard Butterfly after recording a time of 26.47.
Grace Urke finished runner-up in the 50 Yard Backstroke, posting a time of 29.13.
Peyton Wunderlich grabbed second place in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 24.63.
Taylor Miller (25.08) took third.
Maria Strong (54.10) and
Taylor Miller (55.06) would finish second and third in the 100 Yard Freestyle.
The dual ended with the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, where the team of
Olivia Gibbons,
Peyton Wunderlich,
Emma Sheppard, and
Maria Strong finished in first place with a time of 1:38.56.
The Marauders next competition will be the 2026 NSIC Championship. The event will take place from February 11-14 at the Hulbert Aquatic Center in West Fargo, ND.
