BISMARCK, ND – University of Mary men's track and field hosted its largest meet of the season so far with the UMary Winter Classic. The Marauders finished 3
rd out of 9 teams at the event.
Lucas Kupfer was the lone Marauder at the meet to reach an NCAA qualifying mark with a 2.04m score in the high jump. The sophomore from Bismarck won the event, tying his PR and securing his third victory of the season.
Joining Kupfer with a field victory was
Jake Hettinger, another Bismarck athlete. The junior won the Shot Put with a 16.19m throw, finishing as the only competitor to reach 16m. Hettinger has three wins in three tries in the Shot Put this season and ranks 4
th in the NSIC.
Multi-athlete
Kenny Moxey Jr. was victorious in the 60m Hurdles with a PR of 8.30. It was the sophomore's first time competing in the hurdles since Dec. 6, and he won by just 0.01 seconds.
Dawson Hawkinson won the 200m with a 21.99 to secure his first victory of the season. The senior also set a 60m PR at the event with a 6.90 second runner-up finish.

After starting the season with four consecutive home meets, the Marauders will hit the road for the next three weekends. First will be the UND Open in Grand Forks, ND, on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 30 and 31.
