Marauders host NSIC South opponents Wildcats, Vikings this weekend

BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary women's basketball team prepares for an important home weekend as the Marauders welcome Wayne State College to the McDowell Activity Center on Friday, January 23, at 5:30 pm. UMary then hosts Augustana University on Saturday, January 24, at 3:30 pm.

THE RECORD
UMary is 15-6 overall and 8-4 in the NSIC. The Marauders are currently ranked 2nd in the NSIC North standings and tied for 4th in the overall conference standings.

AFTER THE ACTION

WHITE OUT GAMES – FRIDAY
Friday's basketball doubleheader against Wayne State College will be a "White Out Game" starting at 5:30 pm. Fans are encouraged to wear white and be loud when supporting UMary against the Cougars.

KINNENBREW 1,000 CAREER POINTS
It was a historic night for Bergan Kinnebrew as the Bismarck, ND, native reached the 1,000-point milestone in an 83-79 overtime win over the University of Sioux Falls. Kinnebrew will be honored pregame on Friday before the Marauders take on Wayne State College.

She becomes the 24th Marauder reach that 1k milestone and the 12th to do so in the NCAA era. Kinnebrew currently ranks 23rd all-time in UMary history with 1,023 career points.

LAST TIME OUT
The Marauders went 1-1 on the road last weekend. UMary defeated USF 83-79 in overtime before falling to Southwest Minnesota State University 89-75.

Allison Undlin recorded her fifth double-double of the season against the Cougars, posting 21 points and ten rebounds. Bergan Kinnebrew had 25 points, five rebounds, and five steals against USF. Eden Fridley contributed 15 points in the Marauders victory.

STAT LEADERS
Bergan Kinnebrew is second in the NCAA in points scored (436) and third in points per game (22.9). She is shooting 46.9% from the floor, 38.4% from three, and 86.5% from the free-throw line. She leads the Marauders in assists (4.2 apg) and steals (2.0 spg). Kinnebrew is 1st in the NSIC in scoring, 9th in field goal percentage, 5th in free throw percentage, 4th in assists, 25th in rebounding (5.5), 11th in assist/turnover ratio (1.3), 12th in minutes played, 9th in steals, and 17th in three pointers made per game (1.5). 

Allison Undlin holds the most rebounds (7.8 rpg) and blocks (40) on the team. The Mohall, ND, native is second on the team in scoring (14.2 ppg) on a team-best 60.9% from the field. She ranks 7th in the nation in field goal percentage, 9th in total blocks, and 22nd in total rebounds. Undlin is 1st in the NSIC in field goal percentage, 2nd in blocks per game (2.0), 5th in rebounding, and 15th in scoring.

Emily Jaenke leads all bench scorers on the Marauders, averaging 8.3 ppg on a team-best 47.1% shooting from behind the arc. She ranks 10th in the NSC in 3-point field goals made per game (2.0).

Eden Fridley leads the team in assist/turnover ratio (1.8) and is second in assists per game (4.0). Fridley is 3rd in total assists (74) in the NSIC, 2nd in assist/turnover ratio, and 4th in assists per game.

OPPO RESEARCH – WSC
Wayne State College is 9-9 overall and 4-8 in the Northern Sun. The Wildcats are ranked 6th in the NSIC South and 11th in the overall conference standings. Senior forward Kylah vanDonkersgoed leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.3 ppg on 42.8% shooting from the field. Senior forward Rachel Dahlen has recorded the most rebounds (6.6 rpg) and blocks (1.4 bpg) on WSC. Senior guard Tenleigh Smith leads the Wildcats in assists, dishing out 3.2 dimes per game.

OPPO RESEARCH – AU
Augustana University is 6-12 overall and 3-9 in the NSIC. The Vikings are tied for 7th in the NSIC South and are tied for 14th in the overall conference standings. Sophomore forward Isabella Sanneh leads the NSIC in rebounding, averaging 9.6 boards per game. Sanneh also leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.6 ppg on 47.2% from the field. Junior guard Maliyah Elliott holds the most assists (2.8 apg) on the Vikings.

WELCOME BACK
UMary returns three starters from last year's lineup as G Bergan Kinnebrew, G Chloe Pfau, and G Eden Fridley look to see increased roles this season.

Notable key bench returners from last season include F Allison Undlin, G Anna Lenzen, F Cassie Erickson, G Emily Jaenke, and G Brenna Dick.

NEWCOMERS
The Marauders add five freshmen to the roster for the 2025-26 season. G Mashae Miller, Chloe Netzinger, F Senna Mooijekind, G Chloe Nuss, C Tory Jennissen, and G Grace Richardson will all look to make an immediate impact in their freshman campaigns.

COACHING STAFF
Rick Neumann enters his 14th season as the head coach of the UMary women's basketball program. Last season, Neumann passed Fred Fridley for second all-time in program wins last season. He achieved his 200th win on 11.7.2025 against MSU Billings.

Haley Froelich enters her second season as the Marauders assistant coach. Froelich served as the assistant coach at Clarke University for the 2023-24 season, where the Pride went 29-3 and made it to the second round of the NAIA tournament.

KINNEBREW NAMED PLAYER TO WATCH
After being named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference First Team last season, Bergan Kinnebrew was announced as the UMary women's basketball Player to Watch for the 2025-26 season.
Last year, Kinnebrew led the team in scoring, averaging 15.5 points per game. The Bismarck, ND, native shot 38.8% from the field, 35.2% from three, and 84.4% from the free-throw line. The junior ranked 9th in the conference in scoring, 2nd in free throw percentage, 16th in three pointers made per game, and 23rd in steals per game.

MARAUDERS PROJECTED TO FINISH 6TH IN THE NSIC
The NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll projected the Marauders to finish 6th in the conference this season and 2nd in the NSIC North. Last season, UMary finished tied for fifth in the NSIC during the regular season and was knocked out in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.
