GREENSBORO, NC – An impressive performance in the classroom earned the University of Mary baseball team 2024-25 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award honors, presented by Sports Attack. The Marauders posted a 3.41 team grade point average for the 2024-25 academic year.
UMary was one of just 88 NCAA Division II teams, including six from the Northern Sun, to receive the Team Academic Excellence Award from the ABCA. Overall 440 college programs throughout all levels plus 300 high school programs were recognized for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2024-25 academic year.
Nine Marauders earned NSIC All-Academic team honors this spring:
Carter Shin,
Ryan Chamberlain,
Isaac Pegors,
Andrew Linn,
Konnor Kirchoffner,
Jaxon Zanolli,
Noah Hull,
Bryce Leafgren and
Cru Walker. Chamberlain and Pegors claimed Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Additionally, Pegors was named to the Academic All-America baseball first team by CSC. The NSIC Player of the Year, Pegors is the first UMary scholar-athlete selected to the Academic All-America first team.
