FARGO, ND – The University of Mary tennis team (5-6, 4-1 NSIC) heads to Fargo, ND, to challenge #21 Augustana University on Friday, April 4, at 7 pm. The Marauders take on the University of Sioux Falls on Saturday, April 5, at noon.
LAST TIME OUT
The Marauders defeated the University of Minnesota Duluth (6-1) and St. Cloud State University (5-2).

NSIC STANDINGS
The Marauders are currently 4-1 in the Northern Sun, which puts UMary in third place in the conference.
OPPO RESEARCH – AUGUSTANA UNIVERSITY
AU is ranked #21 overall. The Vikings are 10-4 overall and 4-0 in the NSIC. AU is in first place in the conference standings. Senior Nicole Dufour is 5-1 in #1 singles, and freshman Fernanda Sandoval is 15-1 in #2 singles.
OPPO RESEARCH – UNIVERSITY OF SIOUX FALLS
USF is 4-10 overall and 3-1 in the Northern Sun. The Cougars are in 4
th place in the NSIC standings. Junior Talia Janos is 2-9 in #1 singles, and freshman Sydney Osburn is 5-0 in #2 singles.
ZHI JING NAMED NSIC PLAYER TO WATCH
For the fourth season in a row,
Chloe Chong Zhi Jing was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tennis Player to Watch for the Marauders. The Senior has earned All-NSIC First Team Singles honors in all three seasons she has competed at UMary.
MARAUDERS PROJECTED TO FINISH FOURTH
UMary women's tennis is projected to finish 4th in the conference, according to the NSIC Coaches' Poll. Last season, the Marauders took second in the Northern Sun.
OTHER RETURNERS
Freitag returns for her senior season after earning All-NSIC Second Team Singles honors after competing as the Marauders three last year. The Le Locle, Switzerland, native went 7-2 in conference action.
Maria Estinvil returns after being named to the All-NSIC Second Team in singles action. The Quebec, Canada, native went 7-1 in the Northern Sun as she competed as the team's number four. UMary also returns
Luba Moyo to the roster, who competed as the number six last year.
NEWCOMERS
The Marauders have added three freshmen to the roster.

PORTER NAMED HEAD COACH
After serving the last two seasons as the Marauders assistant coach, Porter takes over the helm of the UMary tennis program. Porter was named the Marauders head coach on July 25, 2024. Porter's been the assistant boys and girls tennis coach at Mandan High School since the 2020-21 season and a tennis instructor since 2015. He's earned multiple all-conference honors as a tennis player.
