BURNSVILLE, MN – After going undefeated over the weekend, Ilona Freitag earned Northern Sun Tennis Player of the Week honors for her performance.

This is the first time in Freitag's career that she has been named NSIC POTW. The Marauders all-time wins leader helped lead the Marauders to the fourth seed in the NSIC tournament after UMary went 1-1 to end the regular season.

The Le Locle, Switzerland, native defeated University of Minnesota Crookston's Asli Oktay 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 in #2 singles. The senior then took down Bemidji State University's Mia Leshem 6-2, 6-2.

Freitag and her partner Chloe Chong Zhi Jing went undefeated in #1 doubles. The duo defeated Mia Leshem and Sophie Groen (BSU) 6-4 and Ariadna Solis Guals and Daniela De Lucas (UMC) 6-2.

The Marauders compete against fifth-seeded Minnesota State University Moorhead in the NSIC tournament on Friday, April 25, at 4:30 pm in Sioux Falls, SD.
