SIOUX FALLS, SD – The 2025 season concluded for the University of Mary tennis team (6-10, 5-4 Northern Sun) as the Marauders fell 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the NSIC tournament to Minnesota State University Moorhead.
UMary lost doubles competition 2-0, earning the Dragons one team point.
Chloe Chong Zhi Jing and
Ilona Freitag fell 6-4 to Shaelyn Johnson and Luzmary Diaz Castillo in #1 doubles.
Maria Estinvil and
Anna Sueflohn dropped #2 doubles 6-1 to Sophia Felderman and Tiannah Gu.
Valeria Bradley and
Luba Moyo were winning 5-3 in #3 doubles over Claire Nemmers and Katryna Hansen.
Ilona Freitag lost 6-0, 6-3 victory to Luzmary Diaz Castillo in #2 singles. Freitag finished her UMary career as the all-time NCAA combined wins leader with 76 victories.
Anna Sueflohn was defeated in #4 singles 6-0, 6-3 to Sophia Felderman.
Valeria Bradley fell 6-2, 6-3 in #5 singles to Tiannah Gu.
Competing in #1 singles,
Chloe Chong Zhi Jing won the first set 6-0 against Shaelyn Johnson. The second set was tied at 4-4 when the competition ended.
Maria Estinvil took down the first set 7-6 in #3 against Katryna Hansen. Estinvil was winning 2-1 in the second set when the match ended.
Luba Moyo lost the first set in #6 singles 6-4 to Claire Nemmers. Moyo was winning 3-2 in the second set when the match ended.
