Northern Sun tabs Chamberlain as Pitcher of the Week

BURNSVILLE, MN – A masterful performance by Ryan Chamberlain earned the University of Mary righthander Northern Sun Pitcher of the Week honors.
 
The first Marauders baseball player to earn NSIC weekly honors this season, Chamberlain struck out ten batters in a 9-inning complete game shutout of Concordia-St. Paul. The native of Laramie, WY, limited the Golden Bears to three hits in the 8-0 UMary win.
 
Chamberlain didn't walk or hit a batter. He allowed just one hit in the final seven innings and retired the final nine batters he faced in the game. UMary's NSIC Preseason Pitcher to Watch had retired of string of 11 straight hitters earlier in the game.
 
In two NSIC games this season Chamberlain has allowed two runs and seven hits in 14 innings.
 
Chamberlain is the first UMary pitcher to throw a 9-inning complete game shutout since 2014.
 
The Marauders, who swept a four-game NSIC series from the Golden Bears last week, are scheduled to play at Winona State University March 21-22.
