BURNSVILLE, MN – A monster week at the plate leading to four wins in five games earned University of Mary outfielder
Isaac Pegors the Northern Sun Player of the Week award. This is the second time the reigning NSIC Player of the Year has earned the award in his career and the first time this season.
The Bismarck, ND, native and Legacy High School product posted a home run in each of the Marauders four wins during the week and recorded both a hit and a run in all five games.
For the week Pegors went 8-for-16 at the plate with a double, four home runs, nine runs scored and 11 RBIs for a line of .500/.619/1.313 and an OPS of 1.932. He also walked four times and didn't strike out.
In a doubleheader sweep of the University of Minnesota Crookston, Pegors homered, scored twice and drove in two runs in both games. In a 14-4 win over the University of Minnesota Duluth, the right fielder was 4-for-4 with a double, a home run, three runs scored and four RBIs. He also walked twice. In the series finale, Pegors blasted a 3-run home run in a 7-5 win over the Bulldogs.
For the season Pegors is hitting .340/.437/.652 for a 1.089 OPS with a team-best 12 home runs, 44 RBIs, eight doubles and 36 runs scored.
The Marauders are 25-15 overall this season and 18-9 in the NSIC for third place. UMary next visits the University of Jamestown on Wednesday, April 22. First pitch is 1:30 pm.
