#13 Marauders to face MCH playoff host Redbirds in opening round

BISMARCK, ND – Championship season starts this week for the #13 University of Mary hockey team as the Marauders compete in the Midwest College Hockey playoffs. UMary opens the 8-team 3-day tournament Friday, February 21, against Illinois State University. The puck drops at 8:30 pm between the Marauders and the MCH playoff host Redbirds.
 
The 2025 Midwest College Hockey playoffs run Friday through Sunday, February 21-23, at the Bloomington Ice Center in Bloomington, IL, and features the top four teams in each of the two MCH divisions. The tournament champion earns an automatic berth to the ACHA Men's Division I national tournament.
 
The Marauders are the #3 seed in the MCH North division with the Redbirds the #2 seed in the MCH South. UMary swept the season series from ISU, winning 2-1 and 5-4 on the road on September 27-28.

The Marauders finished the regular season with a record of 22-13-0-0-0-0 (W-L-OTL-T-SOW-SOL) overall, 21-13-0-0-0-0 in ACHA MD1 play and 12-8-0-0-0-0 against Midwest College Hockey competition. Since UMary's inaugural hockey season in 2018-19, the Marauders have finished with a winning record and at least 22 wins all seven seasons.
 
Illinois State is 15-16-3-0-1-1 this season and finished with 30 points for second place in the MCH South division.
