BURNSVILLE, MN – University of Mary men's track and field freshman
Colby Fleck has started his college career impressively, collecting three wins in two weeks. The Northern Sun recognized that, making him the conference's Track Athlete of the Week following the UMary Alumni Open.
On Saturday, Fleck cut nearly a tenth of a second off his 60m PR, placing 2
nd with a 6.87. The NCAA provisional cut is 6.82, and that is within reach for the Bismarck-based athlete. Fleck currently ranks 3
rd in the conference in the event.
Fleck was also a member of the 4x400m Relay, winning with a time of 3:15.48 that ranks as 12
th in the nation and is currently the best in the NSIC. The two-time North Dakota state champion is 4
th in the conference in the 200m with a time of 22.10.
He is the first UMary men's track and field athlete to be named NSIC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week since the 2023-24 season.
UMary track and field will be back in action after Christmas break, hosting the Marauders 2026 Indoor Opener on Jan. 17 at the UMary Fieldhouse.
