Box Score BISMARCK, ND – Shooting struggles plagued the University of Mary women's basketball team (3-3, 0-2 NSIC) in their 65-43 defeat to Minnesota State University Moorhead (4-4, 2-0 NSIC).
Addison Rozell had eight points on 2-of-3 shooting from behind the arc and six rebounds.
Bergan Kinnebrew had 10 points, three assists and two blocks.
Ryleigh Wacha grabbed six rebounds and had seven points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field.
Eden Fridley recorded eight points and two steals.
Moriku Hakim posted seven points and four rebounds off the bench.
UMary struggled with foul trouble as three Marauders fouled out of the game.
UMary opened took a 16-12 lead after the first quarter. The Dragons took control in the second quarter, outscoring the Marauders 24-10 to take a 36-26 lead going into halftime.
UMary failed to regain the momentum from MSUM in the third quarter, and the Marauders were unable to hit a single shot in the fourth quarter, falling 65-43 to the Dragons.
UMary shot 22.4 percent from the field and went 5-of-24 from behind the arc, while MSUM had a 39.6 shooting percentage from the field, going 5-of-17 from three. The Marauders went 12-of-16 from the free throw line, while the Dragons shot 22-of-26 from the charity stripe. UMary struggled on the glass, losing the rebounding battle 45-31 to MSUM.
The Marauders stay home for their next contest, competing against in-state rivals Minot State University on Wednesday, December 11, at 5:30 pm at the McDowell Activity Center.
